Important Things to Note
-
These tests are offered by organizations independent of NCCA. Please read all registration and testing information provided on the CollegeBoard's (SAT) and ACT's websites.
-
There is a fee associated with each test. Fee waivers (2 per test) are available for families who meet certain income guidelines. To request a fee waiver, use the form on this page, making sure to read the eligibility criteria.
-
Colleges require that scores be sent directly from the student's CollegeBoard or ACT account. The school cannot send copies of scores on your behalf.
-
There are special test options such as with or without writing. Please check your college's requirements to make sure you are taking all parts of the test that you need to.
-
Please use our school CEEB code of 341070 when you register. That ensures that a copy of your scores are also sent to NCCA.

When should you register to take these tests?
Most students take the test multiple times during their junior and senior years of high school. Ideally, you will establish a baseline score during your junior year, spend a little time working to improve that score with free (or paid) test prep and then take it again the summer before or early in the Fall of your senior year.
What do I need to score to be accepted into college?
That totally depends upon where you are applying. Check out the average GPA and SAT/ACT scores for the colleges on your list and see how you stack up!
